PKM PENINGKATAN PENDAPATAN RUMAH TANGGA MELALUI PEMANFAATAN ECENG GONDOK SEBAGAI PUPUK ORGANIK ALTERNATIF DI KAMPUNG MAHLIGAI KERTAK HANYAR KABUPATEN

Abstract

Community service (PKM) is one of the three core roles of state university in solving socio-economic and environmental problems. Kampung Mahligai, Kertak Hanyar Subdistrict, Banjar Regency is one of PKM target area. The area is a swampland with full of water hyacinth vegetation. It is considered as weed and mosquitoes habitant. Now, Kampung Mahligai is residential area and that is feared to be the cause of malaria and dengue fever. The solution offered is to process water hyacinth into organic fertilizer and market it. The water hyacinth is rich in humic acid and produces fitohara compounds which useful for roots growth acceleration. The use of water hyacinth as an organic fertilizer alternative provides economic value for the surrounding community. The targets of this community service activity include: socialization and training on the use of water hyacinth as organic fertilizer which have been carried out with the participation of the most Kampung Mahligai residents. The next targets are conducting management training, producing organic fertilizer, offline and online marketing, and assisting in business development until the community is ready for their own entrepreneurship. The result of these activities is the organic fertilizer product. In addition, the dissemination of appropriate technology will increase the knowledge and skills of the community in making and marketing organic water hyacinth fertilizers.
