Abstract

One of the main objectives of agricultural development is to increase food security at the national and household levels. In general, this study aims to examine the behavior of supply / production and rice distribution system in South Kalimantan and to build a model of rice availability with dynamic system approach. The model of rice availability in South Kalimantan is influenced by rice production, rice stock, the amount of rice entering southern Kalimantan. Therefore, in an effort to increase rice production, it should be focused on increasing productivity and addition of outside of intensification area, such as the use of superior seeds, integrated pest and disease control, proper dosage of fertilizer and management improvement. It is also seen that Bulog plays a role as a stabilizer of stocks and prices that have an impact on prices and production. Therefore it is necessary to make Bulog's role in ensuring the availability of rice supply in South Kalimantan so that price fluctuations can be maintained.
