Sifat kimia tanah dan pertumbuhan tanaman padi yang dipupuk dengan kompos jerami diperkaya Azotobacter pada sistem pertanaman SRI dan konvensional
Abstract
One of problems farming management in tidal-swamp lands is ineffective water management which ultimately results in inefficient fertilization. System of Rice Intensification (SRI) that uses appropriate water to the requirement of plants could be used as an alternative to overcome the problems of rice farming in tidal-swamp lands. This study aimed to determine the effect of Azotobacter-enriched rice straw compost on rice cultivation with SRI and conventional systems on changes in chemical properties and growth of rice. This research was carried out using Split Plot in Completely Randomized Block Design (RCBD), in which SRI and conventional systems were treated as main plots and the treatment of Azotobacterenriched straw compost as sub plot. Results of the experiment showed that the soil chemical properties (pH, soluble Fe, and soluble Al) of the soil with the SRI were better than that with conventional systems. Observation at theĀ 49 days after rice planting, the soil pH of the soil with SRI reached 5.53 compared to pH 4.67 of soil with conventional systems; Fe-soluble and Al-soluble concentrations reached 342.69 ppm and 1.08 me/100 g for SRI systems compared to 558.79 ppm and 1.65 me/100 g for conventional systems, respectively. The number of tillers of rice plants on SRI is higher than that of conventional cropping systems, which are 24.55 stems and 18.63 stems, respectively. The results of this study demonstrate that SRI rice plantations in tidal-swamp lands are capable of improving soil chemical properties (pH, Fe-solubility, and Alsolubility) and biomass production of rice plants.
