Pengaruh pengupasan sabut dan pemulsaan terhadap perkecambahan kelapa (Cocos nucifera L.) varietas genjah salak di Desa Pematang Panjang, Banjar

Abstract

Field experiment to study effects of husk stripping and mulching againts coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) germination of genjah salak variety was conducted in Pematang Panjang Village, Sungai Tabuk Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan from April to July 2018. The research used split plot design with 5 replications. The main plot was mulching (no mulch and straw mulch) and sub plot was husk stripping (one area and two areas). The results showed that the interaction of  no mulch with husk stripping one area,no mulch with husk stripping two areas, and straw mulch with husk stripping one area gave the highest  percentage of seed germination (85 - 95.02%). The tallest of seedling (61.18%) was obtained from coconut seed that got husk stripping one area.
