Gambaran histologi pankreas tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) hiperglikemia setelah pemberian biskuit ikan patin (Pangasius hypopthalmus)
Abstract
Catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus) biscuits contain omega 3 in amount of 1.39%. Omega 3 consists of EPA and DHA which can increase insulin production in Langerhans beta cells. One of the symptoms of diabetes mellitus is polyphagia, which can increase appetite and decreasing body weight. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a snack in a form of biscuits which can be consumed by diabetics. The purpose of this study was to examine the histology of hyperglycemic white rat pancreas after giving of catfish biscuits and to determine the formula of catfish biscuits which was effective toward histological image of white rat pancreas. The study was arranged in a complete random design with 24 male rats divided into 6 treatments, i.e. normal with dosing of Na-CMC 0.5% 1mL / 200 gram BB, negative with dosing of Na-CMC 0.5% 1mL / 200 gram BB, positive with dosing of glibenclamide 0.45 mg / kg BB and 3 other treatments by giving catfish biscuits (formula A, formula B and formula C) with 4 replications. All treatments were injected with alloxan monohydrate at a dose of 150 mg / kg BB intraperitonally, except for normal treatment. The results showed that the giving of catfish biscuits had an effect on histology of pancreas. Biscuit composition with 3 grams wheat fluor, 1.25 grams fish filtrate, 0.25 grams egg yolk, 0.5 grams margarine in formula B had an effect on repairing the Langerhans island tissue that had necrosis.
