Penilaian status kesuburan tanah di lahan rawa lebak Kecamatan Labuan Amas Utara, Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah
Abstract
Wetland areas in non-tidal swamps in Labuan Amas Utara Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Tengah District, South Kalimantan, are mostly used for agricultural activities. Testing soil-characteristics and assessing soil fertility status are very necessary in order to manage ‘lebak’ swampy lands. By using the purposive sampling method, the five soil-characteristics of the tested soil variables include Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), Base Saturation (BS), P-total, K-total and C-organic. The results showed that in the study location there were 3 types of ‘Lebak’ swampy land, namely : (1) Lebak Pematang (submerged < 50 cm for < 3 months), (2) Lebak Tengahan (submerged 50-100 cm for 3-6 months), and (3) Lebak Dalam (submerged > 100 cm for > 6 months). The values of CEC ranged from 21.81 - 30.32 me/100g with criteria of moderate to high, Base Saturation (BS) ranged from 43.00 - 82.44% with criteria of high to high, P2O5 ranged from 3.98 - 77.83 me/100g with criteria of low to high, K2O range from 7.39 - 25.03 me/100g with criteria of low to moderate, and Corganic 1.09 - 16.75 % with criteria of low to high. The assessment of the combination of the five soil-characteristics obtained soil fertility status of low to moderate.
