Abstract

Land is one of the important materials as a basic foundation in the field of construction. Soft soil of peat in South Kalimantan generally has low soil carrying capacity and CBR value, so it is necessary to do research on the potential of soft peat soil stabilized with cement as road embankment material. To determine the criteria for landfill, a soil properties test is required in the laboratory. Soil samples were taken at four points, namely on the Handil Bakti road segment - Marabahan two points and on the Syarkawi Governor's Road segment - two point Handil Bakti. Based on the results of laboratory tests, the soft soil of the peat is classified as clay silt soil with a low CBR value, after stabilization with cement it produces CBR values that meet the requirements of embankment soil. Thus, the stabilized soft soil of peat can be used as landfill material and used by the community economically by taking into account the environmental impacts arising from excavation.
