Peluang dan tantangan pengembangan alat mesin panen padi dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Provinsi Riau

Abstract

Indragiri Hilir Regency has great potential in agriculture, so development should be directed to technological policies that are capable of developing products which has competitive advantages. This study aims to determine the priority program which are structured based on the potential, opportunities and challenges in the development of the rice harvesting machine to realize food security in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. This study was conducted with survey methods in three sub-districts which is the center of rice plants in Indragiri Hilir regency. Data analysis using AHP method with expert choice tools integrated with potential, opportunities and threats in the development of rice harvesting machine which are acquired from the experience and knowledge of experts as well as policy makers. Based on the results of the analysis, known that utilization of agricultural area optimally with priority score of 0.563, procurement of several types of rice harvesting machine with value 0.229, and develop UPJA institutions with a value of 0.122, so it can be categorized in a very priority program, priority and quite a priority in the development of rice harvesting machine. Furthermore, the inventory of rice harvesting machine tools at sub-district and district level with priority score of 0.049, establish cooperation with other areas related to rice harvesting machine and capital with a value of 0.039, thus categorized as a less priority program in the development of rice harvesting machine to realize food security.
