Efisiensi teknis usahatani padi sawah lebak di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara, Kalimantan Selatan
Abstract
Technical efficiency of farming here is the ability to generate maximum output by using a certain set of inputs. This research aims to analyze the factors affecting backswamp rice production, analyze the technical efficiency of backswamp rice farming with the approach of Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) and analyze the determinant factors affecting technical inefficiency of backswamp rice farming. The results showed that input inorganic fertilizer significantly affected rice production, the average technical efficiency index backswamp rice farming in the study area of 0.8664, which means quite efficient. Nevertheless, there were still 58.8% of respondents that their technical efficiency was still below average. The determinants that affect the farming inefficiency were the number of household members and farming as the main occupation. The inability of farmers to achieve maximum production solely was caused by managerial factors.
