Abstract


In a household, moreover if there is a patriarchal culture decision making is not only in one party. When decision making is related to contraception and to the wife, sometime the decision making is not completely to be wife’s rights. Based on those background, so this paper’s aim is to describe the characteristic of decision making using contraception to the wife in South Kalimantan Province. This research is using secondary data analysis and SDKI data 2012 with question modul to the women who ever married when they are 15-49 years old in South Kalimantan Province with amount of respondents are 632. Higher the wife’s education so lower the husband’s dominated in making decision using contraception of his wife., more mature the first age marriage of wife the more she can decide what kind of contraception that she use for herself. Wife’s who working is not dominated by their husband in making decision using contraception. The condisions are educated wife, married in mature age, and working, especially those in South Kalimantan, more able to protect their own reproductive rights.
