Abstract


Teaching skills must be trained by students during Field Experience Practices (PPL) activities in schools. It aims to provide an initial experience as a teacher in carrying out teaching tasks professionally. This school action research aims to improve student teaching skills in biology learning in high school. The research subjects were PPL STIKIP PGRI Banjarmasin students in the Biology Education Study Program odd semester 2018/2019 in Barabai 4 Public High School. Consisting of 2 cycles, the first cycle is related to the design of RPP and cycle II about teaching practice. Data on the design of RPP devices is obtained from the assessment of the RPP tools made by students. Data on teaching skills are obtained from the assessment of student teaching practices. All data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed 1) the ability of students in designing RPP devices could be improved, 2) student teaching skills also increased.
