Abstract
Swamps are categorized as wetlands and the wetland environment is the flagship of Lambung Mangkurat University, one of the state universities in Indonesia. Plant species are part of the swamp ecosystem. This paper is the preliminary report of the research whose main purpose is to describe and document the morphology of plant leaves in swamps. Plant species were taken from the plot (20 x 20) m in the FKIP campus yard, Lambung Mangkurat University. The leaf morphology of 21 plant species has been described and documented. Leaf shapes vary, such as oblongatus, ovalus, cordatus, and ensiformis. Some species have single leaves and the other ones, such as Pterocarpus indicus, Mimosa pudica, M. pigra, Phyllanthus urinaria, Cayratia trifolia, Centrocema pubescens, Nypa fruticans, and Sonneratia caesolaris have compound leaves.
