Identifikasi echinodermata di pesisir Pulau Denawan, Kecamatan Pulau Sembilan

Abstract


One of the islands in Pulau Sembilan District is Denawan Island. Various types of invertebrates including Echinoderm live on the coast of this island. Echinoderm is one of the animal phyla that can be found in marine waters, especially in coral reef ecosystems, beaches and seagrass beds. This animal has the main characteristics of thorns or nodules scattered throughout the surface of his body. The purpose of this research was to identify the species of Echinoderm found on the coast of Denawan Island, Pulau Sembilan District. The research procedure was field observation with exploratory techniques following the transect line at 3 stations representing 3 ecosystems, namely sandy beach ecosystem, coral rubble beach ecosystem, and rocky beach ecosystem. The results showed that there were 10 species of Echinoderm from 7 families which included: Linckia laevigate, Parvulastra exigua, and Protoreaster nodosus from Asteroidea class, Diaderma setosum, Toxopneustes pileolus and Tripneustes gratilla from Echinoidea class, Holothuria atra, Holothuria flavomaculata, and Holothuria leucospilota from Holothuroidea class, the latter being the Ophiocoma erinaceus from Ophiuroidea class.
