Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutencens L.) is included as a vegetable commodity that have the potential of production and high economic value. One of the growth inhibitory in the cultivation of cayenne pepper is an attack of pest such as Aphis Gossypii and Bemisia Tabaci. The Crown of Gods (Phaleria macrocarpa) is one of the plants that can be used as vegetable pesticides. By using wider planting distances will result in lower pest attacks. This research purpose to knowing the influence of combination of God's Crown extract and planting distance in controlling insect pest in cayenne pepper, knowing the concentration of Crown extract and the effective planting distance in controlling insect pests in Cayenne pepper. This research was conducted in laboratory production of Agroecotechnology, Basic Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Agroinnovation parks of experimental Land, BPTP Banjarbaru South Kalimantan from May – September 2019. The method that used in this research is the Group Random Design method that contains 2 factors namely the concentration of pesticide extract and the planting distance that consists of 8 treatments, 3 repeats. The results showed that the use of spacing (60 x 60 cm) and (60 X 40 cm) affected the intensity of Aphis Gossypii pest attack which is starting from 5 to 8 MST. The best concentration of God's crown treatment that can be given is 50%. The combination of both treatments is best to suppress the intensity of pests in the treatment of K2A2 at the age of 6 MST amounted to 5.68%. Planting distance (60 x 60 cm) is best to suppress the intensity of Bemisia tabaci pest attack at 7 to 8 MST. The combination of both treatments is best to suppress the intensity of the Bemisia Tabaci pest in K3A2 treatment at the age of 3 MST amounted to 1.73%.
