Abstract

Global warming is a major issue that is being faced by countries around the world. One of the causes of global warming is the effect of greenhouse gases. The main greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere that cause global warming are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. One of the reasons is due to the increase in the number of motorized vehicles resulting in increased air pollution. The polluted air condition is caused by the exhaust gases resulting from the combustion of vehicles containing toxins that are harmful to the environment, especially carbon monoxide (CO) and also hydrocarbons (HC), which are very dangerous for the environment. Data from the 2017 National Socio-Economic Survey - Social Security Module (SSN17.HANSOS) shows that 46.4 percent of households in Indonesia choose environmentally friendly modes of transportation. This figure is relatively small, due to the lack of reliable data available on the choice of transportation modes for the main activities of households at the district/city level in Java, this study aims to obtain district/city level estimates based on household models that choose environmentally friendly modes of transportation using Small Area Estimation (SAE). The results obtained show that the “more” precise and accurate estimation method is SAE EBLUP with RSE value of less than 10 percent.
