Uji beberapa varietas dan tinggi muka air tanah terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi padi (Oryza sativa L.) di lahan pasang surut
Abstract
Riau has about 64 percent of rice shortage. It is necessary to increase the rice production by utilizing the tidal land which is a wetland and have enough potency in Riau. Various varieties of plants will grow well in tidal land if there is a balanced equality between water, air and soil nutrients. The objective of this research is to get the best rice varieties of tidal land that produced from various water level treatments. The experiment was carried out at UPT Experimental Garden of Agricultural Faculty of Riau University, the experiment was conducted by experiment using completely randomized design (RAL). IR-42 and Inpari 13 varieties gave the best response to -10 cm of the ground water level, while the result of Bamban Lentik variety gave the best response to -20 cm groundwater level. IR-42 varity with -10 cm of ground water level, produces the highest of plant height, percentage of pithy grain per clump, weight of milled dried grain per clump, and weight of 1000 pithy grain
