Analisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perilaku pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di Bank Sampah Kota Batu

Abstract

The problem of waste, especially in the cities of Indonesia has become an issue that needs to get the attention of all parties nowadays. Garbage problems caused by several factors one of which is the behavior of people who always throw garbage carelessly. Lack of level of knowledge and attitude of society can cause negative impact especially on garbage problem. Based on preliminary study, the waste produced by Batu City was 425 m3/day, 5 m3/day unserved. This study aims to analyze the internal factors (age, sex, education and employment) and external factors (the role of government and sanitation facilities) in the rubbish bank of Batu City. The research method used was analytic observational method with cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study were 28 samples. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The data used in this study were primary and secondary data, primary data were obtained through questionnaires and direct observation, while secondary data were obtained from related literature and documents studies. The analysis used in this research were univariate and bivariate analysis (using chi-square test with α=0,05). Based on the result of research, it was indicated that from eight independent variables, there were six variables related to the behavior of household waste management, they were education (p 0,035), job (p=0,022), knowledge (p=0,000), attitude (p=0,001), government role (p=0,013), sanitation facility (p= 0,013) and there are two independent variables which have no relationship that is age (p=0,126) and gender (p=0,078) bigger than (α=0,05).
