Deteksi sumber muatan sedimen berbasis perubahan morfometri dasar Danau Tondano, Sulawesi Utara

Abstract

Opinion on the source of sediment loads that enter Lake Tondano continues to occur until now, as a result of continuous siltation. This study aims to analyze changes in lake morphometry to detect the source of sediment load that goes to Lake Tondano. This study was conducted by comparing the bathymetry map results of mapping in 1996 and 2006. The description of the overlay results of the two bathymetry maps was used to obtain a description of the lake morphometric changes. The results showed no significant change in depth, however, indicating a pattern of change of direction of silting. Seeing the contour pattern shows there is a tendency of siltation to move not only towards the south but also to the east. That means more sediment donations come from the western region. The catchment area (cathment area) on the west side of the lake has a wider area when compared to the eastern side (District Eris). so that the greater potential of sediment comes from this region.
