OPTIMALISASI PROGRAM ROOTS PENGUATAN KARAKTER DAN PENCEGAHAN CYBERBULLYING DI SMK LINGKUNGAN LAHAN BASAH
Abstract
Cyberbullying merupakan salah satu bentuk kekerasan digital yang berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mental dan sosial siswa, khususnya di kalangan remaja SMK yang aktif menggunakan media sosial. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, empati, dan keterampilan siswa dalam mencegah perundungan siber melalui penerapan Program Roots di SMK Negeri 2 Pelaihari, lokasi sekolah yang berada di lingkungan lahan basah, memiliki karakteristik geografis dan social ekologis local yang khas. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah guru Bimbingan dan Konseling serta 31 siswa kelas XI Jurusan Asisten Keperawatan dan Caregiver di SMKN 2 Pelaihari. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pendidikan masyarakat melalui penyuluhan, pelatihan karakter, difusi ipteks melalui kampanye digital, serta advokasi pendampingan siswa sebagai agen perubahan. Hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman siswa mengenai cyberbullying, empati terhadap korban, dan kemampuan berkomunikasi secara asertif, dengan kenaikan rata-rata skor sebesar 0,53 poin. Observasi dan wawancara juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih proaktif dalam menyuarakan isu perundungan dan membangun lingkungan digital yang lebih positif. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan partisipatif dan kontekstual seperti Program Roots melalui pelatihan penguatan karakter efektif diterapkan di sekolah yang berada di lingkungan lahan basah. Pengabdian ini penting untuk direplikasi sebagai strategi preventif yang membangun karakter dan budaya anti-perundungan yang berkelanjutan di kalangan siswa.
