PEMANFAATAN ECENG GONDOK (Eichornia crassipes) UNTUK MENGURANGI PENCEMARAN AIR DAN MENINGKATKAN EKONOMI MASYARAKAT DESA TUNGKARAN
Abstract
Eceng gondok/hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) are known as water weeds that have high growth and potentially damaging aquatic environments. The existence of hyacinth in water has its own important value in relation to the sustainability of the aquatic ecosystem, namely as a manufacturer. The water hyacinth in the village of Tungkaran is left alone without any utilization. The hyacinth is left to breed then lifted from the water and become garbage accumulates around the swamp without any utilization. This factor is due to lack of local knowledge of the potential of water hyacinth. In fact, if used, water hyacinth can be used as a useful product. This community service aims to provide training and mentoring the utilization of water hyacinth into compost to reduce the pollution and increase the economy of the people of Tungkaran village. Community service is focused on how simple and precise technology can be used by the community through the processing of water hyacinth into products such as compost. Supply is given in the form of theory and practice of posting, packaging and marketing strategy of products. Compost products made from water hyacinth are expected to support the needs of national fertilizer and improve the living standards of the people of the village Tungkaran.
