Strategi pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pencegahan dan penanggulangan kebakaran lahan pertanian bergambut di Kalimantan Selatan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the community in the prevention and handling of peatland agriculture fires, identify factors affecting community empowerment in the prevention and handling of peatland fires and analyze community empowerment strategies in the prevention and mitigation of peatland fires in South Kalimantan. Research method used in this study is survey method with data collection through Focus Group Discution (FGD) and indept  interview. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis and analysis of AHP (Analysis of Factor Hierarchy). The result of study show that the role of the community in prevention and countermeasures agriculture peatland fires is (1) increasing community awareness in protection and management of agricultural land (2) enhance community independence and partnership in prevention and control of land fires (3) cultivate community responsiveness to conduct social monitoring of prevention and control of land fires (4) maintaining local culture and wisdom of the community for the preservation of agricultural land functions. Factors that affecting community empowerment in prevention and handling of peatland fires include (1) the level of knowledge, skills and attitudes of the community against land fires (2) community needs / interests against land fires (3) resource ownership (4) nature (5) state of infrastructure (6) government policy. The community empowerment strategy in preventing and handling peatland fires in South Kalimantan, among others (1) increasing the community's knowledge about the hazards and losses of agricultural land fires (2) improving the community's knowledge on technical fire prevention of agricultural land (3) improving community skills in prevention agricultural land fires (4) improving community skills in measures agricultural land fires (5) raising community awareness in preventing incidents of agricultural land fires (6) increasing community cooperation measures in combating agricultural land fires.
