Kandungan antioksidan umbi bawang dayak di lahan gambut Landasan Ulin Utara pada umur panen yang berbeda
Abstract
Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr.) has good adaptability to grow on various types of soil, such as on Landasan Ulin Utara peatlands. It shows the potential as an alternative in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. This is due to the presence of antioxidant compounds in the bulbs. Harvest age has relevance to the production and content of compounds in plants. This study aimed to determine the effect of different harvest ages on the content of antioxidant in bulbs. The study was designed using a completely randomized design one factor, i.e. harvest age (2, 4, and 10 months). Each treatment was repeated three times. Observations showed that harvest age had a significant effect on wet weight and dry weight of bulbs, wet and dry bulbs antioxidant content, but there was no significant effect to phenol, flavonoid, and anthocyanin total content in bulbs. There was no difference in qualitative phytochemical compounds content either.
