Konsep perancangan wisata alam lahan basah: Studi kasus Kawasan Wisata Danau Seran di Banjarbaru
Abstract
The development of the tourism sector in Indonesia is very important in national economic activities because the existence of tourism objects in an area can trigger an increase in local economic activities if managed properly. The existence of tourism objects is strongly influenced by natural conditions, culture and phenomena in each region. In the region of South Kalimantan, the high rate of neglected critical land has become an environmental issue that needs attention. This critical land management can be done by managing the land into a tourism area; optimizing the potential of natural resources in accordance with the typical nuances of the local area. The purpose of this study is to formulate the concept of designing a wetland natural tourism area as a recreational tourist destination for the community while maintaining the sustainability of nature and the surrounding environment. The design of Lake Seran in Banjarbaru became the object of study given that the current management of Lake Seran natural resources is not optimal and its potential as a water tourism area with a panorama of Kalimantan's typical wetland forests. This research formulates the fulfillment of ecotourism forming elements – zoning, attractions, facilities, accessibility and conservation – with the principle of mutualism symbiosis between tourism activities carried out by humans and the environment. The principle of symbiosis in the design of Lake Seran tourism area is applied through the maintenance of characteristics of Kalimantan's wetland forests, mutual support between tourism and conservation activities, as well as the existence of open space as a transitional space to connect the built and natural environment (wetland forests) so that the harmony and the authenticity of the ecosystem are maintained.
