Abstract


Tofu industry wastewater contains organic pollutants which are very high and can negatively affect the environment. Anaerobic processes are an alternative treatment for decomposition of organic material without the addition of oxygen. The contact time in the anaerobic process depends on the characteristics and environmental conditions. The research aims to analyze the effluent quality of contact time variations. The method in the form of a pilot plant plant anaerobic suspended growth system reactor with a contact time variation of 0-16 days. The results show the temperature 0-16 days 32.2-35.23 corresponding <38°C. pH 0-16 days from 4.3 to 5.33 does not correspond to 6.0 - 9.0. TSS 0-16 days 52.33-175 according to <200 mg/L. COD 0-16 days 1813-6152,1 not suitable <300 mg/L. BOD 0-16 days 923.85-1391.04 not suitable <150 mg/L. Need to add lime and methane production to quickly decompose.
