Hidrogel berbasis selulosa purun tikus (Eleocharis dulcis) tercangkok akrilamida dengan proses pretreatment menggunakan larutan urea/sodium hidroksida
Abstract
Purun tikus (Eleocharis dulcis) was used as cellulose sources for synthesizing a novel cellulose-g-poly (acrylamide) hydrogel by graft polymerization. Cellulose derived from purun tikus was dissolved in urea/NaOH solvent at -12 °C for pretreatment process. The hydrogel composite structure were characterized by FTIR and the equilibrium water absorbency of hydrogel were investigated by calculating the swelling ratio in water, 5% urea solution and NaCl 0,15 M. The result showed that hydrogel composites with a cellulose which had been pre-treated by NaOH and urea solution have better characteristics than hydrogel composite without dissolution cellulose pretreatment. Hydrogel with a 15% wt ratio of cellulose showed a maximum value of degree water capacity and swelling ratio in 5% urea and 0,15M NaCl solution.
