Wetland vis a vis investasi di Kalimantan Selatan

Abstract


A background of this paper is based on the anxiety of citizen of South Kalimantan regarding the projection of areas that are included in the wetland category in South Kalimantan province in the hands of businessmen or investors. Wetland is areas of swamps, brackish, peatlands and natural or artificial tides, permanent or temporary, flooded or flowing contents whose is freshwater, brackish or salty, including the marine territory which at low tide is nothing more than six meters. This research use socio-legal approach method by using interdisciplinary approach between aspect of normative research with sociological approach by using qualitative analysis, that is by analyzing data deeply and holisticIn the province of South Kalimantan, there are several areas including the wetland category which also includes protected areas, cultural heritage, and other protected areas. The existence of investment in oil palm plantation land owned by businessmen in some areas in South Kalimantan is also wetland area. The existence of oil palm plantation companies is a threat to the ecosystems that exist around the place. In addition, it will be more complicated with a policy which is issued by a regional executive to legalize the oil palm plant. It has seen that phenomenon like this is a dilemmatic condition which must get attention and need a more comprehensive study.
